Eloo Privacy Policy

Eloo (“we”) is an event-based social app at goeloo.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, and a password if you sign up with email. If you continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us. You choose a username, display name, and optionally a bio and profile photo.
Your preferences. Your home city and the interests you pick, so we can show you relevant events.
What you do and share. Posts (photos, captions and vibe tags), comments, likes, RSVPs, event chat messages, direct messages, follows, blocks and reports you file. We also record when you tap through to buy tickets, and use in-app notifications to tell you about activity.
Location. We use the approximate location implied by your IP address (country and nearest city) to show events near you, and we remember your chosen city in a cookie. If you allow location access on the Post screen, your device uses it only to suggest events you are near. Your precise location is never sent to or stored by Eloo.
Technical data. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to run and secure the service. Your sign-in session is kept in your browser’s storage.
Usage statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve Eloo. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other sites, and does not build a profile of you; visits are counted anonymously. We remove anything after a “?” in the address, and never record which conversation you open.
We do not collect your contacts or data from other apps. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or show third-party ads, and we do not use advertising trackers.
What others can see
Your profile, posts, comments, likes and public RSVPs are visible to other people using Eloo. Photos on public event pages can be seen by anyone with the link. You can RSVP privately to stay off the public attendee list. Direct messages are visible only to you and the other person, except that a message you or they report may be reviewed by our moderators.
How we use it
To run your account and the app’s features, to personalise the events you see, to keep Eloo safe (including reviewing reports and enforcing our Terms & Community Guidelines), to fix problems, and to contact you about your account.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run Eloo for us: Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage, hosted on AWS in Sydney, Australia) and Vercel (website hosting, delivery and the anonymous usage statistics above). Google, if you choose to sign in with it. When you follow a ticket link you leave Eloo, and that site’s own privacy policy applies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety. Your data may therefore be processed outside your country.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and the content linked to it are deleted. Copies in routine backups and logs expire within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile at any time. To delete your account and its data, go to Profile → settings → Account security → Delete account. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion, and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights under local law, and we will honour them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and access is limited by strict database permissions. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Children
Eloo is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a minor is using Eloo, tell us and we will remove the account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app.
